CEO Characteristics

How does the average CEO treats his subordinates?

I think there are several key ingredients to being a great CEO.

1. Self-assuredness. A great CEO is a mature, well-rounded individual who knows his or her own value and is comfortable in his or her own skin. This allows the CEO to treat subordinates with respect and dignity, since the CEO has no selfish need to demonstrate superiority. He or she will actively seek feedback and will value a point of view that is contrary.

2. Farsightedness. A great CEO can look beyond the here and now and see far into the future. He or she can predict with great certainty what is coming down the pike and how best to move forward.

3. Enthusiasm. A great CEO loves what he or she does and communicates this enthusiasm constantly. He or she sticks to things and doesn't run at the first sign of adversity. He or she loves a challenge and will be the first one in line to scale the mountain. The great CEO takes care of himself or herself physically and emotionally, and is then available to back up his or her staff.

4. Conviction. A great CEO must have the courage of his or her convictions. He or she has a personal and professional set of values that he or she never compromises -- no matter what.

5. Responsibility. A great CEO doesn't pass the buck or duck the hard choices. He or she takes full responsibility for whatever happens, and holds his or her staff to the same high standard.

Poor & Weak CEO's are unwilling to do the hard work, take responsibility, or make decisions. They delegate the difficult or unpleasant tasks and make sure that they always have a scapegoat around to fix the blame on. They are concerned about themselves to the exclusion of everyone else. They treat their staffs like slaves or like non-entities and they have no personal loyalty. They are also seldom dealing directly with their entry level employees. They usually are not to go the field to understand their concerns.

Have you heard about the movie series called "MAD MEN"? It was top hit channel broadcasting lives in cable television quite some time ago. The show, though was shown the example of what to do and not do to be successful or in future. Do you know what is talking about? The "Mad Men" show series, it purposely to pinpoint some leaders characters how to lead them to successful. It's awesome. Let's us to see further what is all about.

"Mad Men" features an ensemble cast representing several segments of society in 1960s New York, although it focuses more on Don Draper. Mad Men places emphasis on showing each character's past and their development over time. It could be addressed a list of difference leadership character in the workplace. And no doubt, we are staying in the competitive edge nowadays, how do you use your strengths especially your main characteristics to take advantages.

Let's talk about the reality in workplace nowadays. Do you believe every employers are expecting employee to strive for execellent in their work tasks and job responsibities? It's indeed truths. We can't expect the employer gives us the numerous benefits, shall we ask ourself what can we contribute to employer? It's top management voices when the employees have such a demands. We can foresee some interesting characters when you are in the field of workplace. Some characters are cold-blooded, demanding bosses, self-initiatives, self-driven and so forth. It's total countless. No matter what how big of changes or small changes, we must able to show our characteristics to please people all times. With possess good characters, the success is just right behind of you. Although each of us proceed with difference characteristics but you must understand who you are and focuses on the reputation rather than what you do.

Set The Standard




From the day that you knew every people have their own standard, what standard of level you want to be? Don't you ever ask me what type of standard level, corporate or living? I can say it's both! I don't ever believe you if you are telling yourself in your mind, I don't care. I just want to be who am I now. You might be be wrong - right. You are determined your living. Some older often said, "Just to be who you are!".

I remembered that 1st day when I was started worked with somebody, I don't care who are they and not even bother myself who am I. I did my job and at the end of the day you paid me. I was slowly changing my mind, I was wrong. It's not truths. It is totally not what I wanted to be. I know where the standard I aim for. It doesn't matter how tough of the job, I however will work as harder as I can to get to the level I keen for. I set a standard in my mind although it can't happen in short period of time but it is my goals to inspire myself most of time. Standard is a behavior where you hold yourself too. What you thought about now onwards, your standard behavior always reflect your core value. You recognize the core value because you always know your limitations and bottom line.

When you set standards, you determine quality, how well you will do something, or what you will become in the process of achieving something. The standards you set will measure the goals you reach. Consider standards your QA (Quality Control) tool. Standards add a layer of quality to your goals. Here is a statement of standard: "Write one SearchWarp article this week that has no misspelled words and no grammatical errors." as expert said.

I have pointed out that you use standard for evaluate your goals and objectives in your life's. Why it is essential to evaluate by yourself cause you can generate the fresh ideas, advices and suggestion to maintain the higher standard as you can. Without standards, you may reach your gaols with swallow. In reality, this is strive your goals with no spirit. Overall, you can see the clearer pictures what the standard is indicated on what perspective how well you are and how you growth. Standards highlight who you are, or who you are becoming, hopefully a better, more mature you.

A rule of thumb is a principle with broad application that is not intended to be strictly accurate or reliable for every situation. It is an easily learned and easily applied procedure for approximately calculating or recalling some value, or for making some determination as according to Wikipedia explanation. Do you aware what does it mean to you? Let's me briefly clarify what basically mean to you and me. In our life, we tend to have our principles how to view at the life different perspectives. What are you bottom line when things turn up with unexpected? Now sounds pretty familiar on what the rules of thumb to you. For me, I extremely love these theme where it truly go deep in my inner heart how am i look things differently and my thoughts is full of inspiration.

Can we go beyond the rules of thumb in our life's? I guess should ask you this tricky question, "Why not?" We can go beyond rather than remaining the move in the actual place. Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm, as expert said. The chances would not move forward to you without strong reasons, this is all about the effort which you have planting from beginning until you can see your great result at the end. Life's must penetrate certainly, it would not grant you with wrong perception especially you wanted to change your recent reputation whatever you thought of something must change.

Naturally, a lot of things can go beyond your ability if you are willing to go an extra miles. try to think-out-of-box. The plenty gold chances are waiting for your at the destination which you are desire to reach your destiny. Work out things where you never done. If you keep on asked," what is my rules of thumb?" It doesn't matter how you think, the essential of thoughts you must when shall changes make you differently. You can develop your own added value once obtained the achievements after break through the rules of thumb.

According to Wikipedia, kaizen (, Japanese for “continuous improvement”) is a Japanese philosophy that focuses on continuous improvement throughout all aspects of life. I love such a strong word. Everyone of us can choice does - no - to apply this kaizen throughout their entire life.

Why should we continuously to improve and learn other form of resources to enhance our value? It could be reasoned to survive in this competitive edge. Hence, the more you learn and the more you improve, and indeed the more knowledge you'll gain despite that the skills which you generated can be applied even though the economy is downturn to affect all part in our life. Take a good example, a blog, most of entrepreneurs today's have been starting created their own blog to sell their entire ideas and perception through a number of channel to survive. Did you do that too? If yet not started, I strongly urged should start one blog. You might said,"the blog maybe not the successful source to gain advantages." It could be yes - or - not. Not exactly wrong by the way. However, the learning and improving attitudes are the essential for you as well as communicating between social group and employee-employers with a solid understanding.

Climate changes, it can says surrounding atmosphere has been changing from time-to-time. If you think you are too old to change, it is because mainly you are fear to change. You are staying within the comfort zone where it is a barrier to encourage yourself to change. Eventually, this is usually the fear of entrepreneurs why they have stopped being creative and developed. Why not you are dare to try in fact, it is not as hard as we think when you are really discover the new things. After things have been happened, and then you'll look back and say,"why didn't I do this earlier in the first place?"

Keep kaizen in you daily life. It ultimately can gives your strengths when you have faced any challenges. If you think negatively can't be grow because certain excuses to stop you continuously improving, I suggest you to view things positively and ensure you think it is not as hard as I think. Apart from that, you must concentrate and focus on whatever you have today. It is much better than your thoughts negatively. It is O.K and F.I.N.E.
