Get Off Your Duff & Do It In 2013

What does "Duff" mean to you? I am honestly telling you that initially I was not understand what does it mean, when there is new things and words to me, I usually will find and search deeply for my own understanding to get myself improve unless 1% of a day, a year of new learning could be unlimited & countless. Sounds logical and realistic, isn't it? I do not mean you should agree with me the ways how am I actually learning, no offense and obligation, i suggest you can keep this genius way as your reference how to grow yourself without paying much money and attending any tutorial to learn new things and knowledge. Back to story, what actual mean the "Duff" can be explained to 'useless, worthless, ineffective, broken or no good.' There are few explanation on this particular word. To me, I love to use 'no good'. How to describe this terms to you? How are you use it in your life? I have very good example how can you breakthrough your setbacks and challenges to overcome your feared.

Only a few months earlier, a friend of mine named Wilson, he is talented person and smart in areas of sales and marketing, he's putting all his efforts to learn how to market himself, and unfortunately he had mountain of debts on his behind. Why? I have no ideas. The worst is everyday is virtually paralyzed by fear. Sometime even the bankers had been dropped by his house to collect their bad debts from him. Although he is working now, but then he unable to pay his bills and rolled every month. It slowly grow like mountain of snows in short period of time. Obviously, he was thinking to declare bankruptcy, I did urge him that it is not advice him to declare that status. His thoughts had gave up his intention. And to make it worse, Wilson's wife just recently gave a birth of sweetie daughter's named Cecelia. He had eventually added his burned of his living in terms of financial constraint. Pretty sad to know that he is responsible now for the whole family expenses where his wife should stop being worked at couple of few months.

Wilson felt stuck, but then one day he can't get off his fear and until forced him went to bank and took along all unbills statements, old taxes returns. This was the best ways for him to get more financial support by banks. He got no ways to go unless he is willing to sitting down with bankers with solved the problems.

But guessed what, Wilson basically owned a house, which the one he is staying now more than 16 years. It was worth unexpected more than he noticed. That time, the bank officer told Wilson that if he refinanced his house, he could leveraged out of his bad debts and additionally have enough left over to pay more than a year of his baby's grocery stuffs. Obviously he went into that meeting scared, but he came out with empowered.

The moral of the story is, you have to act on your fears, not let them immobilize you. That’s only one of the lessons I learned when I was writing my book. Here are some more:
  • You never know whether a situation represents a threat or an opportunity until you confront your fear and take action. Sitting on your duff will never give you the answer to that question. Unless you move ahead despite your fear, you will never know what you are up against.
  • If you can see a positive goal behind what is scaring you, you are probably in a good situation, not a bad one. Sure you are stressed, but if confronting your fear will let you start a business, retire richer, or buy a property, then you had better move ahead and give it a try. If you can sense a worthwhile goal calling out to you, that is reason enough to move ahead.
  • Taking action will open up even more possibilities for you. Perhaps you’ll get a loan for one investment house - and the income from that property will allow you to buy still more properties. Or the plan you make to eliminate your debt will free you to start making aggressive investments in only a few years. Moving ahead opens up new ways to succeed, while hiding from your fear only causes your life to collapse in on itself.
So remember to think like a baseball player. Can you hit a home run from the bench? Of course not! If you want to swing for the fences, you have to step up to the plate.
